Welcoming Jason Spinell to Collaborative Fund
We are incredibly excited to announce that Jason Spinell is joining Collaborative Fund as a Partner.
Jason and I go back well over a decade to the early-stage venture ecosystem in New York circa 2010. Back then, Jason was the Ventures Director at Undercurrent (a premier design strategy and venture shop), where we spent countless hours trading investment ideas and playing soccer together.

Over the last decade, he has been the driving force behind the Slack Fund, which he helped launch in 2016 in San Francisco. Under his leadership, the Slack Fund backed nearly 100 early-stage companies across North America and Europe, including Lattice, Loom, Glean, Hightouch, 1Password, and Fundamental.
When Salesforce acquired Slack for $27.7 billion, his mandate expanded significantly. This gave him a front-row seat to Salesforce’s rapid transformation into an AI-first organization, and allowed him the freedom to continue investing across the entire AI stack, from foundational infrastructure and frontier tech to end-user applications.
But beyond the resume, Jason is just an exceptional human being. He’s a former freeskier who has appeared in multiple ski films (and Freeskier Magazine!). His favorite book is Yvon Chouinard’s Let My People Go Surfing, he’s deeply thoughtful about the future of work, and he is fundamentally driven by a belief that founders should build what they truly love.
Most importantly, he’s someone we deeply trust and respect, and we are thrilled to be learning from him. Please join us in welcoming him to the team!
